Jordan Fields - The Art of Dancing EP

Jordan Fields - The Art of Dancing EP

Every week, we will head to one of our favorite vinyl shops in New York in order to find their Fresh Picks . This week, we went to The Mixtape Shop to look for NY-produced House.

Released on Brooklyn’s DJ Monchan label Dailysession, the Art of Dancing EP celebrates the two genres that have been at the core of the label since its launch in 2011 : House and Disco.

The A-side is by Chicagoan old-timer Jordan Fields. The Art of Dancing is a club-oriented House track with a playful bassline that contrasts with the treble line made up of echoing bells. This conversation continues throughout, playing tricks on the mind.

On A1, Monchan and Bradford James team up as Cedar Sound Workshop to add a smooth and cosmic taste to the track with holy layers of synth.

The B-side is by New York-based DJ Son of Lee and consists of two massive fist-thrusting disco edits. « G Thang » is a killer edit with an epic build-up that comes to an unexpected and exhilarating chorus in German.

« Spit Take » closes the EP with a soul vibe that we wish would never end.

Let the acrobatics begin !
